Prof. Dr. Mario Schölzel held guest lecture regarding environmental monitoring by sensor networks at the Geomatics lecture at the university of Potsdam. Students were taught about communication protocols, operating systems such as TinyOS as well as programming of hardware and software. Furthermore they were informed on how sensor networks can contribute to deal with spatial data systematically.
